I have a question on filling up this form
It asks for Alien Registration Number (In section 5) - can anyone tell me what to fill this up with, since I do not have Green card?
There is a slot for I-94 admissions# which I have filled up.
Any help will be appreciated.

Today, I was reviewing my I-485 application form and found that Under Part 3 Processing Information, we have to fill-up Place of last entry in United state (City/State):
I put my name there instead of Chicago/IL by mistake. I got I-485 receipt # and case is pending.
How can I correct this information? Is there any way? Please help me.

I will be filing my EAD renewal end of this month at NSC.
Is e-filing faster than paper filing? Any suggestions?

I'm a July 2nd eb3 filer. Never thougt I could file 485 on July just like many people. I started an eb2 Perm early this year with a new position same company. A month later after filed eb3 based 485, my Eb2 Perm got approved, then filed eb2 140.
The problem is my eb2 LC and pending 140 says that I'm holding a position. What can I do? should I withdraw eb2 140? Can I still take advantage of the pending eb2 140, or better leave it along?

As per my knowledge, You will be out of status if you didn't your H1B approval.
So you should try alternative things, like moving on to F1 or H4 dependent Visa.
If you have EAD you should not worry at all.
About USCIS, sometimes it won't get updated. One of my cousin's H1B was canelled and compant got confirmation mail, But still his status shown as active from past 1 year. Make sure with your Employer (ABC/initial company who has your h1B upto Feb-2011) that they got letter from USCIS.

Some big compromises in the House version that dropped this morning. First, there will be $2525 in filing fees, $525 of which is due at the outset and $2000 of which is paid five years in to the ten year conditional non-immigrant period. That should presumably answer critics who complain that DREAM will add to the deficity. Also, conditional status is granted in two five year terms and the college education/military service requirements must be met in the first five year term in order to get the extension approved. USCIS has requested that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approve the continued use of the current version of Form I-9. Once the extension request is approved, USCIS will update Form I-9. At that time, employers will be able to use either the Form I-9 with the new revision date or the Form I-9 with the 02/02/09 revision date.

Hello,
I am in a pretty scary scenario...
My I-140 got denied based on inability to pay. My firm did send out the appeal to fight out the case. The appeal was sent 15 days back with the time limit stated in the denial letter. But today, I received the I-485 denial for both me (primary applicant) & my spouse (dependent).
I have H-1 as a back up but my spouse does not have H-4 status.
My Questions & concerned:
1) How long does it take INS to accept the appeal as I haven't seen any update on the same since the package has been delivered (15 days)?
2) What is next possible step for my spouse & how long can he stay in this country without applying for H-4?
3) If the appeal is accepted & the case gets into processing, will I-485 get back on track for processing & can my spouse start working on EAD?
Would appreciate any sought of guidance possible from the expert lawyers & the individuals with the similar experience & knowledge.
Time is very crucial & so immediate reply will be highly appreciated...
