South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has said many times in the past that the GOP needs to move back to the middle on immigration reform. He's putting his money where his mouth is and is leading the GOP's pro-immigration wing as they work behind the scenes shaping the bill likely to be introduced in the next few weeks. The support of at least half a dozen Republican Senators will be critical since there will no doubt be Democrats who don't vote with their party.

People,
I filed my I-140 at NSC, but when I check case status online it says my I-140 was transfered to another Service center. It does not say which Service center though. My lawyer says he got all his mails form CSC, which means my I-140 is pending at CSC. Also my case number starts with WAC-XXX-XXXX, which also suggests that my case is pending at CSC. However, I am not convinced if this is correct because CSC does not publish processing times for I-140. Also, recently when I filed AR-11 for an address change I got an email from USCIS with the address of TSC on it. I would like to know if anyone is in the same boat and knows which service center there case is. I will appreciate your feedback.

General Motors emerged from bankruptcy today and promises it is the beginning of a new age for America's leading car manufacturer. It's not unusual for immigrant sports figures in the US to have big followings in their home countries. When my wife went to get her H-4 stamped, I gave her my original I-797. I think the applicant need to carry the original I-797 document with them for the interview...

Guys,
Me (as primary) and my wife are July 2007 filers and have our EAD and AP till end of 2010. I also have my H1b approved till 2012 but not stamped yet. My wife currently is in AOS status (comp didn't file for her H4 ext when they applied for my 7th yr H1b ext) but she has not used her EAD. We are planning to travel India next month and get our passport stamped (H1b for myself and H4 for my wife). I've couple of questions
1) Can someone confirm getting H4 for my wife will be treated as abandoning her I-485 because she is currently in AOS status? I don't think so but just want to confirm
2) In form DS156 for my wife what should I answer to this question "Has anyone ever filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on your behalf ?" or to be specific I-485 is treated as immigrant visa petition or I-140 is (in which case answer to this question will be no as her gc is applied as dependent)?

For a EB2 position, that requires a MS with no alternate qualification accepted:
1. Does the business necessity need to show how the job duties match the course work during MS or why the job duties are needed for the company?
2. Do we need to send the business necessity at the time of applying for PERM or only when audited.

your father can apply for visitor visa, but there are no guarnatees she will be approved. Even if he is approved and comes to the USA, applying for adjustment of status would be a mistake (entering as tourist while in fact intending to immigrate) and could lead to permanent bar. If he applys and is approved, she can come to visit and return to home country thats the better option.

Considering many limitations to move a job from non-profit to for-profit, I am considering moving my job to another non profit. With my current employer, my 6 year H-1 B will expire by the end of next year April. So if my change my employer, I will have a very short time to start the process again till I reach I -140 approval again with the new employer.
I heard that from non-profit to for-profit, you are subject to the quota and you have to apply for H-1B quota. But in this case, your previous 6 year with non profit doesn't count.
But if I move from non-profit to non-profit, do I have to reach I-140 approval before my current H-1 B with my current employer expires? Or do I just get another 3 year with new non-profit employer?
If I have to get I-140 approval with new non-profit employer before my current 6 year H-1 B expires, is it doable?
